Perfopan

Microustic® NANO-MICRO 1.9x1.9x0.5 PR6%

Microustic® NANO-MICRO 1.9x1.9x0.5 PR6% is a Perfopan wood panel with Ø0.5mm front holes on a 1.9 × 1.9mm grid and a 6% open area. Perfopan's data sheet gives NRC 0.75 and absorption class B, with 50mm mineral wool at a 200mm mounting depth. It suits meeting rooms, auditoria and premium offices that need solid absorption behind a surface that reads as plain timber.

The 18mm MDF board is drilled from both faces, backed with Soundtex black glass tissue and fixed on an aluminium profile. Its published absorption reaches 0.93 between 500 and 630 Hz, within the speech range. Finishes are melamine, lacquer or wood veneer.

Where it works, fire rating and fitting

Your product questions, answered, for UK schools, offices and venues.

Where does the NANO-MICRO 1.9x1.9x0.5 PR6% suit in a UK building?

It suits meeting rooms, auditoria, lecture rooms and premium offices that need real absorption without a visibly perforated wall. Our acoustician checks the coverage against the room's RT60 target, and against BB93 for a school, at the survey.

What fire rating does the board have?

Perfopan's data sheet gives D-s2,d0 for the standard 18mm MDF board and B-s2,d0 for the fire-resistant MDF board. We check the chosen board and finish against your building's fire strategy before anything is ordered.

How does it perform for speech?

Perfopan's data sheet shows absorption of 0.91 to 0.93 between 400 and 630 Hz, which covers much of the speech range, and NRC 0.75 overall with 50mm of 50 kg/m³ mineral wool at a 200mm mounting depth.

How is it fixed, and who installs it?

Panels fix on an aluminium profile, and the depth of the cavity behind affects the result; Perfopan tested at 200mm. Our installation team confirms the substructure at the survey and sets out the panels on site.

Can I see a sample, and how many panels will I need?

Samples are available on request; allow a few working days. Quantities come from the room's size, finishes and use at the free site survey, which gives a quotation and an AI-assisted acoustic report. Before-and-after acoustic measurement is available as a paid add-on.
