Perfopan

Microustic® MICRO 4x4x1 PR10%

Microustic® MICRO 4x4x1 PR10% is a Perfopan micro-perforated wood panel with Ø1mm front holes and a 10% open area, twice that of the PR5% model. Perfopan's data sheet gives NRC 0.75 without mineral wool and NRC 0.80 with it, at a 200mm mounting depth. It suits busy open-plan offices, canteens and multi-use halls where the room needs more absorption from the same wall area.

The 18mm MDF board is drilled from both faces, backed with Soundtex black glass tissue and fixed on an aluminium profile. With 50mm mineral wool Perfopan rates it absorption class B. The hole pitch is confirmed from the data sheet at specification. Finishes are wood veneer, HPL or lacquer to a RAL colour.

Where it works, fire rating and fitting

Your product questions, answered, for UK schools, offices and venues.

Where does the MICRO 4x4x1 PR10% suit in a UK building?

It suits open-plan offices, canteens and multi-use halls that need more absorption from the wall area available. Our acoustician checks the coverage against the room's RT60 target, and against BB93 for a school, at the survey.

What fire rating does the board have?

Perfopan's data sheet gives D-s2,d0 for the standard 18mm MDF board and B-s2,d0 for the fire-resistant MDF board. We check the chosen board and finish against your building's fire strategy before anything is ordered.

What is the exact hole pitch?

Perfopan's documents do not agree on the pitch for this model, so it is confirmed from the data sheet at specification. The figures that are consistent are the Ø1mm front holes and the 10% perforated area.

How is it fixed, and who installs it?

Panels fix on an aluminium profile, and the depth of the cavity behind affects the result; Perfopan tested at 200mm. Our installation team confirms the substructure at the survey and sets out the panels on site.

Can I see a sample, and how many panels will I need?

Samples are available on request; allow a few working days. Quantities come from the room's size, finishes and use at the free site survey, which gives a quotation and an AI-assisted acoustic report. Before-and-after acoustic measurement is available as a paid add-on.
