Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all goods and services supplied by Acoustic Design & Architecture and to your use of this website. Last updated: September 2026.

1. Definitions and acceptance

“We” means Acoustic Design & Architecture. “Customer” means the person, firm or company buying, or agreeing to buy, goods or services from us. “Goods” means the acoustic products and materials we supply. “Services” means our acoustic surveys, consultancy, design, testing, installation and related work. Placing an order, accepting a quotation or using this website means you accept these terms, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

2. Quotations and prices

Quotations are valid for 30 days unless they say otherwise. Prices exclude VAT unless stated. Quantities are approximate and include an allowance for waste. Unless a quotation says otherwise, it excludes structural alterations and making good. Please check every detail of a quotation before you order.

3. Payment

Payment terms are set out in our written quotation. Unless it says otherwise, invoices are due within 30 days of the invoice date. We may charge interest and recovery costs on overdue amounts under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Title to the Goods stays with us until we have received payment in full.

4. Goods

Goods will match the manufacturer’s current specification at the time of delivery. If a specified product becomes unavailable, we may supply an equivalent or better one. Small variations in colour, texture or pattern are normal in natural and manufactured materials and are not defects.

5. Delivery and installation

Delivery and installation dates are estimates and we are not liable for delays, although we will make reasonable efforts to meet them. The Customer must make sure access, permits, power and site conditions are ready before installation begins. Delays or aborted visits caused by the Customer may lead to additional charges. Risk in the Goods passes to the Customer on delivery or installation, whichever comes first.

6. Inspection and defects

Please inspect the Goods and completed work promptly and tell us in writing about any defect within 7 days of delivery or completion. After that they are treated as accepted. Where a defect is reported in time and is not caused by misuse or incorrect installation by others, we will repair or replace the affected Goods. Manufacturer warranties apply to Goods.

7. Cancellations

Orders for Goods cannot be cancelled once placed. If the Customer delays or cancels Services at short notice, we may charge for the costs we have incurred. We may suspend or stop work if payment is overdue.

8. Designs and intellectual property

All drawings, designs, specifications, reports and proposals we produce remain our intellectual property unless we transfer them in writing. You may use them for the project they were prepared for, but may not copy or share them for other purposes without our written consent.

9. Liability

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or business opportunity. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the invoice value of the Goods or Services the claim relates to. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Claims must be made within 12 months of the invoice date.

10. Health and safety

We carry out our work in line with UK health and safety legislation, and we expect the Customer to give us a safe working site.

11. Events outside our control

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including accidents, fire, flooding, strikes, material shortages, transport delays or government action. Time for performance is extended by the length of the delay.

12. Website use

The information on this website is for general guidance and is not a substitute for a survey or professional advice on your project. 13. General

These terms and any written quotation or agreement from us are the entire agreement between us and replace any earlier discussions. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page when you order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. We will always try to resolve a dispute in good faith before any legal action.
