Sound Insulation Doors
Sound Insulation Doors are rated for 42 dB sound reduction, so the door does its share when the walls and ceiling around it are insulated. They suit recording rooms, plant rooms, meeting rooms, school music rooms and venues where a door would otherwise be the weak point.
The solid-core leaf with its facing layers is 64mm thick and combines three sound-blocking layers, and needs no acoustic surface treatment. Interior sizes run 800 to 1000 mm wide by 2100 mm, plus main-entrance and double-leaf. The aluminium threshold set is required for the rating.

It is rated for 42 dB sound reduction. That rating relies on the full kit, including Perfopan's aluminium threshold set, so we specify the threshold with the door. We then check the surrounding wall, because a door only performs as well as its partition.
Typical uses are school music rooms and practice rooms, offices with confidential meeting rooms, recording spaces and venue back-of-house. Our installation team fits the door and threshold, and we review the frame and wall build at the survey.
Fire resistance can be extended with a fire-resistant laminate finish or special lacquer, but a rating is not stated for the standard door. We confirm it from the manufacturer's data sheet against your building's requirements before ordering, door by door.
Standard interior sizes are 800 x 2100 mm, 900 x 2100 mm and 1000 x 2100 mm. Main-entrance sizes are 970 x 2080 mm, 1070 x 2080 mm and 1170 x 2080 mm, and double-leaf versions are available.
