OAK Light Brown MDF Black Felt

OAK Light Brown MDF Black Felt is a Kuuks slat panel with light oak veneered MDF slats on a black recycled PET felt base. The felt absorbs sound entering the 13mm gaps between slats, cutting echo on walls and ceilings in offices, restaurants and homes.

Slats are 12mm veneered MDF, 27mm wide, in 2400mm or 2800mm lengths. The black base is 7mm or 9mm GRS-certified recycled PET felt. Slats and felt are classified B-s1,d0, and the board is formaldehyde-free.

Where it works, fire rating and fitting

Your product questions, answered, for UK schools, offices and venues.

Is the black-felt oak panel suitable for restaurants and offices?

Yes. The black base makes the gaps recede into shadow, which gives a higher-contrast wall in restaurants, bars, boardrooms and reception areas. Kuuks states it suits walls and ceilings. For schools we assess the room against its BB93 target at the survey.

What fire classification does it have?

Kuuks gives the veneered MDF slats and the felt base a B-s1,d0 classification to EN 13501-1. We compare that with your building's fire strategy before anything is ordered, and confirm it for the finish you choose.

Who installs it and how is it fixed?

Our installation team fits it. Slat panels on a felt base are usually fixed to a sound wall or to battens, and the method for plasterboard or other surfaces is confirmed at the survey first.

What sizes and spacing does it come in?

Slats are 12mm veneered MDF, 27mm wide with 13mm spacing, in 2400mm or 2800mm lengths. The black PET felt base is 7mm or 9mm thick and certified to the Global Recycle Standard.

Can I get a sample, and how many panels will I need?

Samples are available on request; allow a few working days. The quantity follows the acoustic need of the space, not wall area alone. A free site survey gives a quotation and an AI-assisted acoustic report to plan from.
