Mahogany

Mahogany is a Kuuks veneered slat panel with a deep reddish-brown grain and a traditional, formal character. Its 12mm MDF slats sit on a recycled PET felt base that absorbs sound, cutting echo on walls and ceilings in heritage and period-style interiors.

Slats are 12mm veneered MDF, 27mm wide with 13mm spacing, in 2400mm or 2800mm lengths. The base is 7mm or 9mm GRS-certified recycled PET felt in black or grey. Slats and felt are classified B-s1,d0.

Where it works, fire rating and fitting

Your product questions, answered, for UK schools, offices and venues.

Where does Mahogany suit UK interiors?

Its traditional tone suits listed or period buildings, members' clubs, hotel bars, meeting rooms, restaurants and boardrooms. For a school, we assess the room against its BB93 target at the survey before recommending panel quantities.

What fire classification applies to Mahogany?

Kuuks gives both the veneered MDF slats and the felt base a B-s1,d0 classification to EN 13501-1. We confirm it for your chosen finish against the building's fire strategy before ordering, which matters in older buildings.

Can Mahogany panels be fixed to an older wall?

Slat panels on a felt base are usually fixed directly to a sound wall or to battens, on walls or ceilings. Our installation team checks your surface, including plasterboard or uneven plaster, at the survey and then fits them.

What are the Mahogany slat and felt specifications?

Slats are 12mm veneered MDF, 27mm wide with 13mm spacing, in 2400mm or 2800mm lengths. The PET felt base is 7mm or 9mm thick, black or grey, and certified to the Global Recycle Standard.

How do I get a Mahogany sample and a coverage estimate?

Samples are available on request; allow a few working days. Coverage is worked out from the room's volume, finishes and use, and a free site survey gives a quotation and an AI-assisted acoustic report. Measurement is a paid add-on.
