Black Ash
Black Ash is a Kuuks veneered slat panel that darkens straight-grained ash to near-black, with the grain still visible up close. Its MDF slats on a recycled PET felt base absorb sound and cut echo on walls and ceilings in dark-palette interiors.
Slats are 12mm veneered MDF, 27mm wide with 13mm spacing, in 2400mm or 2800mm lengths. The base is 7mm or 9mm GRS-certified recycled PET felt in black or grey. Slats and felt are classified B-s1,d0.

It suits dark-palette briefs in bars, restaurants, theatres and studios, and in offices or reception areas that want timber texture rather than flat black. For a school, we assess the room against its BB93 target at the survey.
Kuuks classifies both the veneered MDF slats and the felt base as B-s1,d0 to EN 13501-1: limited contribution to fire, very low smoke, no flaming droplets. We check it against your building's fire strategy before ordering.
Slat panels on a felt base are usually fixed directly to a sound wall or to battens, on walls or ceilings. Our installation team confirms the right method for your surface, including plasterboard, at the survey and does the installation.
