Acoustic Ceiling Baffles

Acoustic ceiling baffles are vertical or angled absorbers suspended below the deck to intercept sound before it reflects back into the room. Suspended acoustic ceiling baffles absorb sound from the one surface most rooms leave completely untreated: the ceiling. Hung vertically or at an angle, they intercept sound before it reflects back down into the working area — a fast, non-disruptive way to bring reverberation under control without touching the walls or floor. Because baffles hang clear of the ceiling deck, they leave services, sprinklers and lighting fully accessible, and can be combined with integrated LED strips for a fixture that does double duty as both acoustic treatment and architectural lighting. Baffles are particularly effective in large-volume, high-ceilinged spaces — open-plan offices, canteens, sports halls and atriums — where flat wall panelling alone cannot cover enough surface area to make a measurable difference. We specify baffle depth, spacing and orientation to your room's actual volume rather than a standard layout, then supply and install across the UK — get in touch for a free survey.

From first survey to final finish

One team handles all seven stages, the same way on every project, so you always know what happens next.

Acoustic Survey

A surveyor visits the site, or works from your drawings and photos when a visit isn't practical. Either way, the room, its surfaces and how it is used are recorded before any advice is given.

Acoustic Assessment

Reverberation, ambient noise and noise transfer are read against what the space is used for. The findings arrive as a written report with recommendations, yours to keep with no obligation to proceed.

Acoustic Design

Treatment is modelled against a reverberation target, then drawn up with panel positions, fixings and finishes. Nothing moves forward until you have approved the design.

Specification & Quotation

Every quotation comes with the specification behind it, listing products by type, quantity and finish with costs set out line by line. What is quoted is what the design calls for.

Acoustic Product Supply

Panels, baffles, ceilings and screens come from our Acoustic Solutions range and are supplied to the approved specification. What arrives on site matches what was designed.

Acoustic Installation

Our own engineers fit to the approved drawings, checking positions and fixings as they go. One team supplies and installs, so nothing is handed between contractors.

Acoustic Testing & Compliance

Optional: after fit-out the space can be measured again and compared with the original survey, so the improvement is measured rather than assumed. Results are reported against the relevant standards and the written record goes into your building file.

We work in a strict sequence. Each stage is verified before the next one begins.

Site Survey & Assessment

We listen to the problem and understand the space. You tell us what you hear and when it matters most.

Acoustic product FAQs: specification, performance and installation

Answers to the questions buyers ask most about this type of acoustic product.

Should acoustic ceiling baffles hang vertically or at an angle?

Vertical baffles suit most rooms and absorb on both faces. Angled baffles help when reflections arrive from the side, for example along a glazed wall. We choose orientation, depth and spacing from the room's shape and target reverberation time, so neighbouring baffles do not shade each other and waste absorption.

How much clearance do ceiling baffles need around sprinklers and lighting?

Enough to keep sprinklers, detectors, lighting and ductwork working and reachable. That normally means hanging baffles below the services with a clear gap to the deck. We measure the ceiling void at the survey and check the layout against the fire strategy before anything is ordered.

Can acoustic ceiling baffles include integrated lighting?

Yes. Many ranges take integrated LED strips, so one fixture provides light and absorption. A qualified electrician does the wiring, and light output and dimming are specified with your lighting design. Ask for the fire and heat rating of the baffle body around the LED, and confirm it before ordering.

Are ceiling baffles suitable for atriums and double-height spaces?

Yes, they are one of the best options there. A tall room has plenty of ceiling but little reachable wall, and baffles hang from the roof to intercept sound where wall panels cannot. Access equipment for installation is planned into the programme so the work stays safe and predictable.

Do ceiling baffles collect more dust than wall panels?

Not noticeably. Baffles are vertical, so dust settles slowly on them, and an occasional light vacuum is normally enough. Very dusty places such as workshops need a wipeable face, which is a different product from a standard fabric or felt baffle.
