Sound Blades

Sound Blades are capsule-shaped acoustic felt baffles that hang from the ceiling in rows. They break up a hard ceiling and absorb sound from both faces, which suits open-plan offices, corridors, meeting rooms and AV spaces where wall area is limited.

Sound Blades hang on ceiling suspension cables or drops, with row spacing adjustable on site. The current Acoustera range shows the acoustic felt in grey, blue, olive and near-black.

Not sure what your space needs? We can survey it or quote for supply and installation.

Hung on ceiling suspension cables or drops

Grey, blue, olive and near-black shown

  • Form: vertically suspended capsule/blade acoustic baffle, hung in rows
  • Material: acoustic felt (full material and fire data from the manufacturer on request)
  • Mounting: ceiling suspension cables/drops, row spacing adjustable on site
  • Finish/colour: grey, blue, olive and near-black shown in current range

As a hanging baffle system it is particularly effective in large, hard-floored open offices, circulation corridors, meeting rooms and AV/conferencing spaces where wall area is limited or already in use, and the ceiling plane is the main opportunity for acoustic treatment.

Where it works, fire rating and fitting

Your product questions, answered, for UK schools, offices and venues.

Where do Sound Blades work in UK offices and venues?

Sound Blades suit hard-floored open offices, corridors, meeting rooms and AV spaces, and low-lit reception or hospitality ceilings. For schools we assess the room against its BB93 target at the survey before proposing baffle density.

How do we confirm the fire classification of Sound Blades?

Acoustera supplies material and fire data on request, not publicly. We obtain that data sheet and check the classification against the requirements of your building, then confirm it to you before the baffles go on order.

How are Sound Blades suspended, and who installs them?

The baffles hang from ceiling suspension cables or drops, and row spacing is adjustable on site. Our installation team sets out the rows after checking the soffit at the survey, so spacing and levels stay consistent.

What colours and layouts are available for Sound Blades?

The current Acoustera range shows Sound Blades in grey, blue, olive and near-black. Rows can be packed tightly or spaced out, and further colours and sizes are confirmed with the manufacturer when we quote.

Can I get Sound Blades samples, and how many baffles?

Samples are available on request; allow a few working days. Our acoustician works out the baffle count from room size, ceiling height and occupancy, and the free site survey gives a quotation plus an AI-assisted acoustic report.
