Where it works, fire rating and fitting

Your product questions, answered, for UK schools, offices and venues.

Is Plaid suitable for offices, meeting rooms and hospitality spaces?

Yes. Its 300mm square fits around doors, windows and furniture, so Plaid treats awkward wall areas in offices, meeting rooms and hospitality spaces. It is for indoor use. In a school we assess against the BB93 target at the survey.

Are Acoustera felt panels like Plaid environmentally friendly?

Plaid is needle-punched PET felt: 100% PET, with up to 60% recycled content, and recyclable. It is 13mm thick, and finish and colour are chosen from the standard colour card.

Is Plaid fire rated?

Acoustera's data lists Class A (ASTM E84) and B-s1,d0 under EN 13501-1. Before ordering, we confirm it from the manufacturer's data sheet against your building's requirements, because those differ between a school, an office and a venue.

How is Plaid installed around doors and windows?

Our installation team fits the panels and confirms the fixing for your surface at the free site survey. The small squares are set out on site with you, so they sit cleanly around doors, windows and furniture.

Can I order a Plaid sample, and how many panels do I need?

Samples are available on request; allow a few working days. Our acoustician works out how many 300mm squares a wall needs, and the free site survey gives you a quotation and an AI-assisted acoustic report.
