A hard-walled meeting room turns every video call into hard work. Sound bounces off the glass and painted walls straight back into the microphone, so the person on the other end hears an echo under everything you say, and starts asking you to repeat yourself, meeting after meeting, without ever quite identifying why.

Specified for speech clarity on a call, not just quiet in the room

This is the detail most people miss: a room can feel reasonably quiet to sit in and still sound genuinely echoey on a video call, because the microphone picks up reflected sound that a human ear in the room barely notices. We specify treatment against a speech transmission score suited to video conferencing specifically, not just general noise reduction, since those are measurably different goals.

Positioned around the microphone, not just anywhere in the room

The most effective treatment absorbs sound at the ceiling and on the walls behind and beside the camera position, exactly where reflections are picked up most strongly by the microphone. This is a more targeted intervention than blanket wall coverage, and it's why identifying the right surfaces during a survey matters more than simply adding panels everywhere.

Working around your existing AV kit, not replacing it

Panels are positioned around screens, cameras and microphones rather than in the way of them, so existing AV equipment doesn't need to move or be reinstalled as part of the project.

Fast, single-room turnaround

Most conferencing rooms are surveyed, specified and treated in half a day to a full day, with minimal disruption to a single-room booking schedule, one of the quickest acoustic projects we run.

Common questions

Will this actually improve how we sound on video calls? Yes, absorbing reflected sound around the microphone position is one of the most effective ways to improve call clarity specifically.

Can you work around our existing screens and AV kit? Yes, panels are positioned around fixed equipment rather than requiring it to be moved or reinstalled.

Do we need treatment on every wall? Not always, we identify which surfaces are actually causing the problem during the survey rather than treating the room uniformly.

Fixing your worst call-quality room

See our AV and conferencing room acoustics page or book a free survey to find out which surfaces in your room are actually causing the echo.

From first survey to final finish

One team handles all seven stages, the same way on every project, so you always know what happens next.

Acoustic Survey

A surveyor visits the site, or works from your drawings and photos when a visit isn't practical. Either way, the room, its surfaces and how it is used are recorded before any advice is given.

Acoustic Assessment

Reverberation, ambient noise and noise transfer are read against what the space is used for. The findings arrive as a written report with recommendations, yours to keep with no obligation to proceed.

Acoustic Design

Treatment is modelled against a reverberation target, then drawn up with panel positions, fixings and finishes. Nothing moves forward until you have approved the design.

Specification & Quotation

Every quotation comes with the specification behind it, listing products by type, quantity and finish with costs set out line by line. What is quoted is what the design calls for.

Acoustic Product Supply

Panels, baffles, ceilings and screens come from our Acoustic Solutions range and are supplied to the approved specification. What arrives on site matches what was designed.

Acoustic Installation

Our own engineers fit to the approved drawings, checking positions and fixings as they go. One team supplies and installs, so nothing is handed between contractors.

Acoustic Testing & Compliance

Optional: after fit-out the space can be measured again and compared with the original survey, so the improvement is measured rather than assumed. Results are reported against the relevant standards and the written record goes into your building file.
