Reverberation blurs the teacher's voice by the back row
Specified to Building Bulletin 93 reverberation targets
Impact-resistant finishes built for children, not delicate fabric
Scheduled for school holidays, so lessons continue
Untreated classrooms blur the teacher's voice
The right treatment fixes this properly, not by guesswork. By absorbing sound at the ceiling and upper walls to BB93's reverberation targets, you bring the room down to a level where every pupil can actually follow the lesson — not just the ones sitting closest to the front.
In an untreated classroom, a teacher's voice doesn't just carry — it smears, bouncing off hard walls and ceilings until words blur together by the back row. Children strain to follow, and the ones already struggling — because of a hearing difference, or because English isn't their first language — fall behind fastest. It's serious enough that BB93 sets a legal reverberation limit specifically to stop it happening.

How we approach
Classroom
We know a classroom is one of the few UK spaces with a legal reverberation limit for good reason — untreated rooms measurably get in the way of how well pupils hear and understand a teacher. We specify to BB93's actual targets for the room's size and use, not a standard panel count applied everywhere.
One contractor, start to finish
Survey, design, installation and testing all handled in-house — no subcontractors, no handoffs between suppliers. One team stays accountable for the result, from the first site visit to the final sign-off.
Designed to a target
Every space gets an acoustic design modelled to a specific reverberation target, not a standard panel layout. Before-and-after measurement is available as an option, so the improvement can be proven, not just felt.
Designed to meet BB93
We specify against the Building Bulletin 93 reverberation targets required for teaching spaces, sized to the room's actual dimensions and use.
Independent on materials
We source from several manufacturers and are tied to none, so we specify what your space and budget actually need, not what one catalogue stocks.

From first survey to final finish
One team handles all seven stages, the same way on every project, so you always know what happens next.
A surveyor visits the site, or works from your drawings and photos when a visit isn't practical. Either way, the room, its surfaces and how it is used are recorded before any advice is given.
Reverberation, ambient noise and noise transfer are read against what the space is used for. The findings arrive as a written report with recommendations, yours to keep with no obligation to proceed.
Treatment is modelled against a reverberation target, then drawn up with panel positions, fixings and finishes. Nothing moves forward until you have approved the design.
Every quotation comes with the specification behind it, listing products by type, quantity and finish with costs set out line by line. What is quoted is what the design calls for.
Panels, baffles, ceilings and screens come from our Acoustic Solutions range and are supplied to the approved specification. What arrives on site matches what was designed.
Our own engineers fit to the approved drawings, checking positions and fixings as they go. One team supplies and installs, so nothing is handed between contractors.
Optional: after fit-out the space can be measured again and compared with the original survey, so the improvement is measured rather than assumed. Results are reported against the relevant standards and the written record goes into your building file.
What We Offer
Classroom
Need expert acoustic advice?
Our acoustic design service includes detailed CAD drawings with wall elevation renderings, precise product placements, specifications, and verified performance ratings — all provided with every quotation.
We provide remote acoustic proposals using client drawings and photographs. Each proposal includes accurate product recommendations and detailed quotations for supply and installation, saving time without compromising precision.
We provide complimentary NTI RT60 testing to measure reverberation times and assess acoustic performance before and after treatment. This service ensures precise product specification and demonstrates measurable improvements in clarity and comfort.
For projects with complex acoustic requirements, we provide a comprehensive audit package that includes detailed site testing and analysis. This chargeable service is fully credited if we're contracted to deliver the acoustic treatments.
How we reduce the noise
We treat the ceiling and upper walls with panels rated for the reverberation time BB93 requires for teaching spaces, using impact-resistant finishes that are built to survive daily classroom use.
One team surveys, designs and installs — nothing gets lost between contractors
Every install is measured and tested against the target spec before we call it done
Not tied to one manufacturer, so the product is chosen for your space, not our stock

Acoustic treatment FAQs: standards, finishes and installation
Straight answers about treating a space like this, including the standards that apply and how the work is done.
Generally around 0.6 to 0.8 seconds for a general teaching space, depending on the room's volume and type, and about 0.4 seconds for rooms used by pupils with hearing impairment or SEN. We calculate your room's target from its volume and use, then specify treatment to reach it.
Yes. Lower reverberation makes speech clearer for every pupil, and it helps most those with hearing difficulties or English as an additional language, who struggle first when reflections blur a teacher's voice. It also reduces vocal strain for staff.
We usually schedule installation for school holidays or after hours to avoid disrupting lessons. For a single room, a weekend or a short closure can work. Dust, noise and access are agreed with the school in advance.
Impact-resistant panels, fixed above pupil reach or with tougher facings at lower level. Fabric-wrapped panels at pupil height are easily damaged, so we place absorption on the ceiling and upper walls and choose durable finishes below.
Post-installation testing is available as an optional extra. It measures the room's reverberation time against the target, and we give you the results in writing. Keep the report with your school's building records, because it evidences how the room performs.
