A medium auditorium within a warm-climate convention centre needed premium, climate-appropriate finishes alongside strong, detailed acoustic performance.

Within the Qassim University Convention Center, this 700-seat medium auditorium called for its own architectural acoustic design, planned and delivered in full by Acoustic Design.

Grooved acoustic wall and ceiling claddings and custom geometric panels give the room a light, refined palette, with a dedicated timber lath system on the rear wall for extra absorption.

Carpet and seating finishes were chosen with the region's warm climate in mind.

Challenge

A medium auditorium within a warm-climate convention centre needed premium, climate-appropriate finishes alongside strong, detailed acoustic performance.

The brief asked for a high-specification interior that would read as premium and contemporary while delivering strong acoustic performance across the room.

Finishes also had to suit the region's warm climate and sit in harmony with the timber tones used throughout.

Solution

Custom geometric acoustic panels with bespoke radiused wood-edge joints were combined with a dedicated rear-wall timber lath system for extra absorption, and carpet and seating finishes chosen to suit the climate and complement the timber tones.

Carpet and artificial-leather seating were selected to complement the timber, giving the room a clean, contemporary character.

Panels, baffles, ceilings and screens come from our Acoustic Solutions range and are supplied to the approved specification. What arrives on site matches what was designed.

Our own engineers fit to the approved drawings, checking positions and fixings as they go. One team supplies and installs, so nothing is handed between contractors.

Acoustic Testing & Compliance

Optional: after fit-out the space can be measured again and compared with the original survey, so the improvement is measured rather than assumed. Results are reported against the relevant standards and the written record goes into your building file.
